Pakistan Papersack Division started operations in 1973 with its first Papersack plant and was listed on the stock exchange in 1976. Since its inception, PPD has enjoyed market dominance with its two strategic production units located in Hub, Baluchistan and Gadoon, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
The current production capacity of both these units is over 450 million sacks per year with aggressive plans to scale up in the near future. The Company employs over 300 people who are regularly reskilled with the latest production techniques and technical know how - keeping our staff at the very top of their game. With more than 1000 individual variants and 5 product lines, Pakistan Papersack remains a market leader today.
The company provides high quality packaging solutions to various industries that include cement, staple foods, restaurants, chemicals and clothing brands, amongst others.
With over 50 successful years in the packaging industry, PPD has captured local demand and exports to key international markets including Middle East, EU and the UK. Now, we have plans to further convert 30% of our overall sales into export in the coming years.
In 2012, PPD expanded its portfolio to include SOS bags and with an annual capacity exceeding 100 million bags, we cater to global and local fast food franchises and the retail-packaging sector as well. In the Fast Food segment our products include SOS bags for Food Service and Delivery and Burger Wraps and Tray Liners.
PPD also launched the carrier bag division in 2017 - the first of its kind in Pakistan to manufacture fully automated machine-made bags. Primarily targeting the fashion retail industry. The carrier bags segment provides unmatched quality and efficiency, and has been establishing a growing presence in the local market.
The company also has ISO 22000 Certification – Food Safety Management Systems – from SGS, making us the first ISO certified paper bag manufacturer in the country. Other certifications include International Halal, FSC-COC and ISO -9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
